Lanvin presented an energetic menswear collection at Paris Mens Fashion Week F/W 2011-2012. Lucas Ossendrijver and Alber Elbaz, Lanvin’s men’s designers welcomed their crowd with a surprise treat of coffee and sweets, and then charmed them with a rather strict yet luxurious line for fall and winter.

“Where there is tension, there is energy and this collection was really about that tension. A classic loafer and then an extreme hiking boot, or luxury tailoring mixed with sportswear. We tried to find the hybrid,” said Lucas Ossendrijver after the show.

Highlights are cashmere turtle-necks beneath button-up shirts, a long knee length coat with a tightly tied rope belt, and the more gentle touches of color, aubergine, maroon, moss green, in soft fabrics such as silk and jersey. Styled with hats, each look was classic with some twists thrown in, such as a fox tail subtly appearing underneath a coat.

“They bring out the face. It’s not just about the clothes themselves, but how they highlight the boy who wears them,” Ossendrijver responded in regards to his hats.
