QUENTIN VERON HAUTE COUTURE – PARIS F/W 2011 FASHION SHOW

The Middle Age from Quentin Veron for Fall/Winter 2011-2012 best suits a “no-nonsense” kind of woman with an extravagant flare. Leather and an abundance of furs are the highlight of this focused collection. Meanwhile, the styling clips that remained in the hair, the barely there black dresses that at times completely exposed the models’ derrières, and the flowing and sculpted sheets of black tulle tacked on with oversized safety pins laid the barebones platform.

This minimalistic backdrop gives way to a luxurious array of fox furs and the more rock look of jet black goat fur. Imitating the look of armour with fur and leather, Veron creates a polished version of the boarish and savage medieval era, mixed with modernity and rock and roll. Shown in a vaulted basement in the Marais district of Paris, there could not have been a more suitable setting for the historical regression/progression that took place.
