SEVEN BAR FOUNDATION’S LINGERIE NEW YORK BENEFIT

Seven Bar Foundation’s LINGERIE NEW YORK: Saving the World on a G-String!

LINGERIE New York showed for the first time in New York City last October 21st, 2010 at Cipriani 42nd St. The show was presented by Freedom Bay St. Lucia, the 5-star eco-luxury resort, and featured lingerie shows by fashion designers Atsuko Kondo, known for her exclusive work with latex, and Carine Gilson, a hand-crafted lingerie couture designer.

The show was held to benefit Seven Bar Foundation, a business model for social impact – harnessing the power of sustainable luxury, fashion and beauty to microfinance women’s business and enable self-suffiency, by “giving a hand UP, instead of a hand OUT.”  Proceeds raised at the benefit goes towards assisting women without other means to open their own businesses, with small business loans. The focus is mainly on women in the U.S. and Carribean. Lingerie Miami, New York, Los Angeles and other cities are platforms for the Foundation to reach a critical mass of consciousness – a blueprint for philanthropy that moves away from a donor-reliant model and offers an economic incentive in consumer retail through cause marketing.  (For more information, visit www.sevenbarfoundation.org)
