Avant-garde designer, Bora Aksu, originally from Turkey has been based in London for the last 15 years. His inspiration for his latest collection was “Ants and my mum’s photos from sixties.” He showcased models wearing body-con dresses with complicated ruffles, twisted coils and other elements that showed some resemblance of insect parts. There were a mix of red, black and grey “ant dresses” patchworked in silk, brocade and tulle. Despite the unusual inspiration, the collection is actually very beautifully constructed and the detailing and textures create quite a unique effect that is still very wearable.
