JEAN PAUL GAULTIER HAUTE COUTURE – PARIS S/S 2012 FASHION SHOW

The air was buzzing after the Spring Summer 2012 Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show, which was dubbed a tribute to the late and great Amy Winehouse. Although her family took the collection in a negative light, Gaultier did something absolutely necessary: raise up a tragically fallen artist and maintain her status as not only musical wonder but a style icon as well.

Orange, turquoise, deep red, bright yellow, hot pink — the color palette stretched all over the place but was appropriate. The fabrics, the silhouettes also varied from draped to sculptured, but from this there were many repeated elements: pencil skirts, bustiers, and of course, beehives.
