Taking place at the classy Cité de la mode et du design the river Seine, the Amaya Arzuaga SS12 collection was presented under grand white balloon lights that lined the open balcony of the venue, composing a very dream-like atmosphere to support the playful garments of the line. The Spanish designer transformed her models into sea-like creatures with colorful pastel eye makeup and wet, slick backed hair as if just emerging form the ocean. Her collection followed a clear concept, using a palette of light colors and satin or diaphonous fabrics that hung loosely away from the models’ bodies, both wrapped to create gathers and drapes across the body, and at times firm in structure and shape.
