ANTONIO AZZUOLO – NEW YORK S/S 2012 PRESENTATION

Named a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, Antonio Azzuolo’s S/S 2012 followed a rebellious route, taking its inspiration from ‘Les Minets,’ a scandalous modern French movement.’ Azzuolo’s pieces reflected the movement’s fantasy with dressing up and causing havoc with a collection which played around with traditional cuts, silhouettes and colour codes. Sharply cut, double-breasted jackets were suited to cropped white pants and neck-ties and waistcoats to create a modern flaneur type.

Azzuolo’s S/S man plays on the cheeky side of Spring’s mainline trends by fiddling around with size and fittings; ties were kept skinny, trouser were cropped, sweaters and jersey jackets were sleeveless and necklines were accentuated into deep v-cuts. Colour coding scattered between mustard yellow, warm red, white and charcoal grey. Azzuolo’s style this season sways between slouchy and smart – laidback lads.
