Balenciaga’s designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, presented a punky androgynous collection, with the idea to make womenswear boyish. “I want a twist on a man’s wardrobe; the masculine side of a woman is very interesting.” The casting included 3 girls he picked up from the street with short, spiky hair to be part of the show. The collection consisted of pied de coq coats, sleeveless/backless button-down shirts, quilted leather moto jackets against a very Parisian setting.
