Born in Florida Corrie Nielsen moved to London in 2000 and was chosen by John Galliano as winner of Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden 2010. For SS12 she has created an elegant, gothic collection heavy with complex and structured tailoring. Where some pieces had a traditional oriental feel to the cut, others were more masculine in shape, with simple buttoned shirts, giant exaggerated shoulders and basques and corsets worn with trousers and skirts. Everything came in muted colours, black, white, dusky gold and green, ink blue and one bright powder yellow all on luxurious fabrics with generous folds.
