DIOR HOMME – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW

This has been the season of military inspiration and Kris van Assche approached this trend head-on for Fall/Winter 2012 with the collection “A Soldier on my Own”. This Dior Homme army takes sportswear and tailors it to perfection. Like past seasons, which were minimalistic in approach, van Assche keeps each suit basic, but then over this he adds the military inspired twist – buttons, toggles, the martial tailoring around the neck. Many suit jackets sported 3 or four buttons, a more modest look, and this with its color scheme consisting mostly of white, black, and army green could read strict and severe. However, the looseness of the cape-like coats, the warmness of wool, and the embroidered white birds help to soften the collection.
