Designer Douglas Hannant was born and raised in the Midwest and had studied fine art at Missouri State University. In 1988, Hannant moved to New York and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and in 1996 he decided to launch his own collection. For his Spring 2011 collection he showcased at the Edwardian Room at the Plaza, stating “The theme this season is candy!” Hannant’s show features bright colored A-line short skirts, an ivory shift with multicolored buttons and silk dresses. Overall a very classic collection well suited for his American market. We liked the shocking pink one shoulder dress.
