ELISE OVERLAND – NEW YORK A/W 2010 FASHION SHOW

Aerosmith’s former costume designer, Elise Overland showed her Fall 2010 collection this season at Exit Art much to the delight of her star studded front row, which included supermodel Heidi Klum, Kelly Osbourne and Peaches Geldof. True to classic rock and roll style, the collection featured quilted motorbike jackets, and a great deal of fur and some modern takes on leather work. Taking her inspiration from a video of a surgeon performing open heart surgery, it was the concept of layers and the “rich glossy colors of the heart” that provided the backdrop for the color palette which featured siren reds, deep purples and black. Also worth noting, is the 80’s influence reflected in the power silhouettes, with strong shoulders and architectural shapes.
