FIAC CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR PARIS 2009

FIAC CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR PARIS 2009

Fiac, the international modern and contemporary art fair that took place October 22-25 in Paris, was truly grandiose. Over 200 exhibitors were featured throughout the Tuilleries gardens, the Cour Carree of the Louvre and the Grand Palais. The show opened with a bang with artists Fabien and Raphael Siboni setting off a 15 minute firework display setting the mood for a truly shocking and amazing show. The larger  installations and performance pieces were held in the gardens, such as Vincent Olinet’s floating canopy bed, Laurent Tixador’s Jumping Beans, and Prinz Gholam’s performance piece “Air”. The Grand Palais catered to established giants of the contemporary art world such as Andy Warhol & Jackson Pollock.  The Cour Carree was home to some very interesting emerging artists from around the world.
