JULIEN FOURNIE HAUTE COUTURE – PARIS S/S 2012 FASHION SHOW
Julien Fournié, one of the young designers invited by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture as a guest member on the official Haute Couture calendar, is pushing haute couture not just into modern times but into the experimentation of future technology. His collaboration with FashionLab and their 3D sketching systems resulted in his Spring/Summer 2012 collection presented beneath the iconic Pont d’Alexandre III.
And the fruit of this labor? Exceedingly short, sexy, yet thoughtful pieces. With a base of white and nude, electric color pops of neon yellow and magenta came into play in flowing silks, a material imitating that of optical fibers, and large concertina fold sculptural ornamentation. The design lines are clean and clear, flattering and suggestive, for an all around successful collection.
