KATTY XIOMARA PRESENTATION PHOTOS BY XXXX MAGAZINE

Venezuelan-born, Katty Xiomara presented her SS12 creations in a small two-floored gallery in Paris where the white walls were transformed into screens for the projection of cityscapes and images of frozen models next to which her models would dance next to in sensual and fluid movements of arms and body. The models became a part of an installation under bright colored lights highlighting podiums throughout the gallery. Katty’s creations use a 1950’s palette of tawny oranges, mustard yellows, and caramel browns along with white and black, and are draped in elegant, and voluptuous layers creating lines of color and texture across the body. Layers of fabrics are tied together at points on the dresses adding a romantic volume to the silhouette of a woman, merging together the classic 50’s woman with a woman of the ancient Greco-Roman mood.
