NARY MANIVONG – NEW YORK S/S 2011 PRESENTATION

NARY MANIVONG COLLECTION VIDEO

Nary Manivong created a elegantly youthful spring line that’s light and cohesive. By combining native Lao prints and muted colors, he creates pieces that are organic with traces back to his roots. A white rope around the waist becomes a belt that helps tie together some of his outfits. His woven dutch hats give off a sense of earthiness. According to his website bio, the once homeless designer states “Nary Manivong’s design philosophy centers on that dream woman: a self-assured, sophisticated and eclectic muse who expresses herself through clothing that flows effortlessly with the demands of her everyday life. The result: functionality, sensuality and attitude.”
