QASIMI HOMME – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW

Stretched between East and West, Khalid Al Qasimi kept his signature cultural blending trademarks in place for “Opus”, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection from Qasimi Homme. Although inspired by “dark romance”, what he showed was closer to an at times militant sportswear paired with a flowing softness that took the form of silk organza and plastic plaids with quilted leather and baseball caps. Following the military trend of the season, Qasimi has used army finishings on the coats and jackets, and certainly not to be outbalanced by western influences, the use of Sufi skirts was truly well-played, with the more subtle barely appearing as a skirt with such a slim silhouette and the more pronounced being full, draped and flowing. Ever contrasting silk and latex, hard and soft, masculine and feminine, East and West, Al Qasimi tackles several variations of the same theme simultaneously.

Contrasting the height and softness of volumized hair on top, the sides are slicked back. While others had natural, lose hair covered with baseball hats.
