RDV – PARIS S/S 2012 SHOWROOM PRESENTATION
Two steps away from the Centre Pompidou, the RDV by Rendez-vous showroom presented over 50 designers in collections of menswear and accessories. Some of the standout collections were from Below.Decades, Dusty, Harris Wharf London, Lee Lapthorne, LOTHO, Master Piece, Même T’Aime, Pointer,René Gurskov, Sandqvist, Vincent Schoepfer.
Below.Decades’s line, “Unconventional Trees,” has one main focus — functionality. Inspired by Whitechapel in London, Below.Decades pulls from the dusty and dark past of this landmark and interpreted it through an alternation of sexy draping and tailoring.
Dusty’s collection about sea and city was inspired by a photograph of a meadow under a turbulent sky. The same airy knitted lace was used all throughout the collection, and notably painted to form a textured seemingly new fabric.
Harris Wharf London sticks to what they do best, and keep it simple in merely mixing up their variables. With only three general designs for their line of unlined jackets, they encourage the client to customize the little finishes, such as raw exposed seams, the colors and fabrics of the elbow patches, trim, etc.
