SYNOPSIS:
Directed by Indira Cesarine, Season of the Witch (6:06) features Veronika K. The video art / fashion film presents a voyeuristic journey of a girl lost in time. Dimensions become entangled as she flickers between moments. The elevator becomes a symbol of her descent between realities of time and space, as she searches for the meaning of her existence. Styling by Jonathan Rackleff, with makeup by Roberto Morelli and hair by Alberto Guzman. Music by Moby.

Touted as a “photographic child prodigy”, Indira Cesarine’s first solo exhibition was at the age of 16 at the Paul Mellon Arts Center. By the time she graduated high school she had exhibited 4 one-woman shows of her photographic work. While finishing a triple major in Art History, French Literature and Women’s Studies at Columbia University, she began shooting for a variety of top modeling agencies including Elite, Ford and Wilhelmina Models. Once she finished her degree, she went to London to pursue her interests in photography and journalism. Within 6 months of arriving in London, she was appointed Editor at Large of the British magazine “Don’t Tell It”, and began shooting editorials for many magazines in England, the US and Europe.

Over the years her work has sparked the interest of some of the world’s top creative directors, having been commissioned for British Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Marie Claire, Tatler, The Times, In Style, L’Officiel as well as many other international publications and advertising campaigns.
Her career as a director began with her first short film, “City of Love” being featured at Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Since then she has directed, produced and edited numerous short films while maintaining an active career as a photographer. In 2009 she produced and launched the multimedia publication XXXX MAGAZINE, showcasing original productions of fashion and video art films.

Recent exhibits include several of her video art films being featured in the “Facets of Figuration” Benefit Art Exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, September 2011; The “Voyeur” Exhibit, Art Basel Miami, in collaboration with XXXX Magazine, Miami Art Museum Contemporaries, American Friends of the Louvre and Quintessentially, December 2010; “Motion Deconstructed” Exhibit with Quintessentiallly Art, New York, June 2010; “Soiree Au Louvre” Video Art Installation at the French Embassy, June 2010; “Carte Blanche” solo show at Visionairs Gallery, Paris, January 2010; “New York Fashion Shorts” at the Tribeca Grand, September 2009; “London Fashion Shorts” at Machine–A Gallery in February 2010; “The Distorted Beauty Show”, April 2010, and “Factory Project” exhibit in London, July 2011. Her documentary short film, “In Face of Disability” was featured at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival short Film Corner. Indira Cesarine and XXXX Magazine video productions can also be seen regularly at the “Big Screen Plaza” video art billboard in Chelsea, New York.

Indira and her work have been featured internationally on TV shows such as E! TV, Fashion TV, Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, HBO’s Special “Ford Supermodel of the World”, MTV, ‘HIGH SOCIETY’ and “Make me a Supermodel” UK and US editions. H&M recently commissioned her to cover Spring /Summer 2012 trends for their H&M LIFE TV edition.

Alberto Guzman

Alberto Guzman, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico moved to NY in the early eighties. After being in NYC for a couple of years getting inspired from the vibe of the city he began his extensive career as a hair stylist in 1985, working with some of the most prestigious stylist known today including: rock-star hair stylists John Sahag, mainstay Jean Louis David, John Frieda and celebrity favourite Bumble and Bumble.

His career and style have blossomed and morphed, as is the case with all great artists. This is in direct correlation to the fact Alberto Guzman is constantly looking for inspiration and rarely finds it from mundane, branded or expected sources. Describing himself, he defines his technique as modern, avant-garde, a little bit “old-school” and a little bit rock ‘n roll. Guzman’s particular brand of style and his creative range are the reasons he attracts such a unique and diverse clientele. Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong celebrity following including such luminaries as: Christina Aguilera, Julia Roberts, Tyra Banks, Richard Gere, Gwyneth Paltrow, Pink, Carolina Herrera, Bridget Moynahan and Martha Stewart, to name a few. Guzman is also a favorite “go-to” stylist at high-fashion publications including Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar and Glamour. His styling talents have been utilized by many well-known businesses including Banana Republic, Bloomingdales, Bergdorf Goodman and L’Oreal.

Roberto Morelli

Roberto Morelli developed a passion for drawing, painting and fashion at an early age. To support his study of fine art, he began to work at beauty salons in his native Rome. Before long, he was taken under the wing of Rino Carboni (celebrated makeup artist to Federico Fellini), who taught him special effects and theatrical makeup. In Milan, he began working on magazine editorials with such models and actresses as Naomi Campbell, Elle McPherson, Claudia Schiffer, Monica Bellucci, Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Molly Sims. Roberto traveled the world eventually settling in New York City where he is now based.

His work with such acclaimed photographers as Annie Leibovitz, Mario Sorrenti and Tom Munro have graced the pages of the world’s best fashion magazines. Roberto participated in a series of works with the late fashion editor and Icon Isabella Blow. In recent years Roberto has been working with long time client, the legendary model Lauren Hutton, on her makeup line as the color development director. Roberto has also collaborated with the fashion design duo The Blonds for the Life Ball 2009 in Vienna. The Life Ball is the biggest charity event in Europe supporting people with HIV or AIDS. Roberto is continuously developing his unique makeup style, and his work can often be seen in numerous magazines every month

Michaela Vatcheva

Michaela Vatcheva is a new and aspiring videography talent, currently living between Chicago and Paris. Born in Bulgaria, educated in Germany, England and France, Michaela has gathered shooting and editing experience throughout France, Spain, Portugal, Monaco, Germany and the UK. Fluent in German, French, English and Bulgarian, Michaela got a double major Master?s in media science and linguistics, while working for media giant TF1, international innovation agency faberNovel, multilingual current affairs magazine CaféBabel and director Indira Cesarine for XXXX magazine.

Don Gerardo Frasco started with still photography early 2006 while taking his bachelors, and then converged with cinematography while studying at the New York Film Academy. He completed the filmmaking program in 2009. Prior to film studies, he graduated BS-Accountancy on May of 2008 from University of San Carlos in his homeland, Cebu. He is currently based in New York City. His primary interest is capturing emotion exposed by animate creatures or inanimate objects whether it is factual or directed.
