Fashion designer Tim Soar had started his career as a graphic designer and was also involved in the music industry. In 2005, he started up his own menswear with a mixed style of minimalism, tailoring and sportswear. For his spring/summer 2011 collection, Soar was inspired by “Heavy and light, thick and thin; nothingness; Thomas Jerome Newton.” Throughout the collection of men’s and women’s pieces you saw plenty of simple belted outfits, several that resembled life-preservers, details in denim and bullet belts, as well as prison style stripes and kimono style belts over tailored jackets. Some of the pieces bordered on camp, while others were rather conservative.
