VIKTOR & ROLF – PARIS S/S 2011 FASHION SHOW

VICTOR & ROLF COLLECTION VIDEO

Dutch duo designers, Victor & Rolf (Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren) showcased their spring/summer collection inspired by menswear – focusing on the construction of a man’s shirt. They transformed their simple idea into a theatrical and very conceptual collection, as would be expected by the genius duo. The shirt was recreated into extremely feminine and daring constructions, with everything from the cocktail dress to the wedding dress re-imagined with the shirt as it’s inspiration. Starting with a simple striped button-down, it was made into a short shirtdress with four collars and four sets of cuffs running up the models arms while increasing in size. Everyone was talking about one piece in particular, a well tailored white shirt with a tail extending into a train, topped with simple black pants.
